Who The Hell Do You Think You Are?
It is a sad and simple reality for many people that they have no idea how to answer that question! They often do not know the answer because they are 'at the effect' of the manner or belligerent attitude of the person asking. And, of course, the question might be asked indirectly and wrapped up in weasel words and soft tones.
Oh, we can all reply with the obvious answers; a parent, a social worker, a homeless person, a lover, a bank manager, a bankrupt, and it is easy to do so when we are on familiar ground, feel safe and secure in our comfort zone, even if that zone keeps us running on habit, yearning for something different, other, elsewhere. Or someone who will make us feel special.
On this section of the site, you will find links, articles, workshops, thoughts and ideas, poetry and events that might direct your thoughts, and mine, towards the best and the most that we can do with what we've got and what we might yet become.
To be able to respond to the bully, the con-artist, the charmer, the demanding friend, the challening child, the clingy colleague, the scary stranger, with a degree of dignity, groundedness and assertiveness- that is partly what personal development is about - and it is so very much more!
